Founders Forum: Alex Brandwein, Brandwein’s Bagels

Next in our Founders Forum series, we’ll speak with Alex Brandwein. Brandwein is the owner and operator of Brandwein’s Bagels, a retail and catering shop in downtown Chapel Hill.

A native New Yorker and lover of bagels, Brandwein quickly discovered the absence of a local, authentic bagel shop in Chapel Hill. During his MBA studies at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, he developed his business plan to bring a bagel shop to the community. Brandwein’s Bagels opened in August of 2020 and since then has grown to more than 50 team members, serving as a staple of the community.
